The Same Old Story is a old time radio style drama, with live actors and sound effects, performed in front of an audience.  All the sounds you hear were produeced by the cast, and each cast member had no idea what they were in for.

The editor has the final say, and can mix up the final show in whatever way they see fit, or, within the limits of what they have to work with.
